Make Waves LV1 OSC-Controllable

GainStage LV1 OSC Bridge translates simple OSC commands into Waves LV1's internal control protocol — so you can drive the entire mixer from QLab, TouchOSC, or any OSC-based tool.

Run the bridge locally on the LV1 host or remotely over the network via Layer 3/TCP. Clean paths, full mixer access, production-ready.

The Bridge Between OSC and Waves LV1

Waves LV1 is typically controlled through Waves' own MyRemote apps, dedicated control surfaces, or MIDI/MCU — but native OSC is not part of that picture. The GainStage LV1 OSC Bridge provides a new way in: clean, direct, and readable OSC control. It acts as a real-time translation layer, converting human-readable OSC messages into LV1's internal control protocol. Send /ch/1/fader, /master/lr/fader, or /scene/recall from QLab, TouchOSC, Companion, or any OSC-compatible system — the bridge handles the rest.

A New Way Into Waves LV1

Waves describes remote control of LV1 through the MyRemote family, dedicated control surfaces, and MIDI/MCU — but native OSC is not listed as an official control path. The GainStage LV1 OSC Bridge was built specifically to fill that gap: a direct, production-grade translation layer between standard OSC and LV1's internal control protocol.

This means you can integrate LV1 into a much larger ecosystem of tools and workflows. Use QLab for cue-based automation, build custom layouts in TouchOSC with your own buttons and pages, or connect any OSC-capable engine — and send everything into the bridge using simple, predictable OSC addresses like /ch/1/mute, /aux/3/fader, or /dca/1/fader. Both QLab and TouchOSC have well-documented OSC support, making them natural front-ends for the system.

Flexible Deployment

The bridge can run on the same machine as LV1, or on a separate computer on the network. When running externally, it connects to the LV1 host system via standard Layer 3/IP routing over TCP — making it suitable for both compact single-machine rigs and distributed network environments with dedicated show control machines.

Designed for Real Production

Instead of working with complex, hard-to-read internal commands, you use clean OSC paths like /ch/1/send/mon/1, /ch/1/eq/1/freq, and /scene/recall. This makes integration faster, more transparent, and far easier to debug.

Why It Matters

The GainStage LV1 OSC Bridge makes it possible to use LV1 in workflows where OSC is already the standard — show control, automation, custom controller surfaces, and productions where multiple systems need to communicate in a simple, unified way.

Typical Use Cases

Show Control Integration

Trigger scene recalls, mute groups, and fader moves from QLab or any show control system as part of your cue stack — without switching to the LV1 interface mid-show.

Custom Control Surfaces

Build dedicated TouchOSC layouts or hardware controllers that directly control LV1's faders, EQ, dynamics, and routing — designed for your specific workflow.

Broadcast Automation

Automate channel mutes, fader levels, and bus routing from your broadcast automation system over the network — keeping the audio operator focused on content.

Multi-System Installations

Control one or more LV1 instances from a central control room over standard IP networking — ideal for houses of worship, theater, and fixed installations.

Rapid Prototyping

Test LV1 parameter control from a scripting environment or command-line OSC tool. Use raw/direct commands for advanced experiments without building a full interface first.

Touring FOH Engineers

Integrate LV1 scene management and channel control into your touring rig's existing OSC-based workflow — keeping everything in one automation layer.

Technical Highlights

  • OSC-to-LV1 translation — Converts standard OSC messages to LV1's internal control protocol in real time
  • Human-readable address space — Intuitive paths like /ch/1/fader, /master/lr/fader, /scene/recall
  • Local or networked — Runs on the LV1 host machine or on a separate computer via TCP/IP
  • Full parameter coverage — Faders, mutes, EQ, dynamics, sends, routing, scenes, talkback, cue, user keys, and more
  • Bi-directional feedback — Receive real-time state updates from LV1 back to your OSC controller
  • Raw command passthrough — Send direct LV1 commands for edge cases and advanced workflows
  • Engine agnostic — Works with any system that speaks OSC: QLab, TouchOSC, Companion, Node.js, Python, Max/MSP
  • Production-grade reliability — Designed for live environments where stability is non-negotiable
